The Elite Bartending School of Pittsburgh is an independently owned trade school that was established in 1977. Our main goal is to concentrate on offering superior training to students behind "real" bars with actual equipment. We are proud to say our school has earned the reputation from our graduates and local employers as the best bartending school in the greater Pittsburgh area.

Our School

Our Facility offers our students 8 fully-operational bar stations and our three licensed instructors have over 20 years experience in bartending. As a student, you will learn over 175 drinks with hands-on training, mixing them and preparing them yourself for practice. Our students also leave with training in customer service skills. We also offer a State Alcohol Awareness Certification course (which is responsible bartending) and a Bar Flair course.

Our campuses are designed to give our students simulated, on-the-job training. Our classrooms accommodate our small bartending classes of 6 to 14 people. Our bar stations have the latest Wunderbar soda gun systems, three compartment sinks, stainless steel ice bins, mixers, professional glassware, and liquor speed racks.

Our students are entitled to unlimited practice time once they enroll in our bartending school. Students may arrive early before or stay late after their bartending class to get extra practice time behind our fully-equipped bars. Extra practice time is not necessary, but many of our students tell us that the extra time behind the bar helps build their confidence. In our indiustry, "the best bartenders get the best tips!"

Job Placement

Once you successfully complete the program you will receive certification as a professional mixologist and our lifetime local and national job placement. We also offer our graduates free refresher courses to keep them sharp. Our program is designed to educate you with or without previous bartending experience.

Dawn Szerbin is our Job Placement Director for the Pittsburgh school. Dawn has been with our school for 7 years now. She works very hard to help each student find the jobs that they most desire. We are also proud to say that our school has maintained a 98% job placement rating for over 20 years now.

Dawn is responsible for maintaining a current list of job openings for our students. Bar managers and other managers regularly call the schools when they have openings for bartenders. In addition, our staff makes regular calls to bars, restaurants and nightclubs to help them meet their staffing needs. Our services are free to them and we all work very hard to help them meet their goals and needs.
