Bartending allows people the freedom to choose a work environment that matches their personality. A good bartender can work anywhere in the country, or in the world. Some bartenders prefer the hotel or country club environment, others want to be in the hottest nightclubs, and some just want to work in a friendly neighborhood pub.

At the Mixology Wine Institute (MWI), we have created programs to answer that demand. We provide the education, the speed, the organizational skills as well as customer service and alcohol awareness.

We are the only bartending school in the Allentown, Bethlehem area that are part of Professional Bartending Schools of America. The premier chain of state-licensed bartending schools.

About Us

The Mixology Wine Institute is dedicated to a thorough training program, designed to give each student a comprehensive up-to-date understanding of the bartending field. Professional bartenders are expected to be well versed in the proper mixing of cocktails, wine & beer service, bar operation and management, ordering supplies, handling monies, liquor laws, customer service and responsible bar service. MWI provides the student with the opportunity to develop these skills and enter this field as a professional.

Our first Philadelphia bartending school opened in 1991. We have been training professional bartenders in the greater Philadelphia area for 20 years. We are very proud of the great bartending jobs our graduates have received. Many of our graduates are now managers and owners of some of Greater Philadelphia's best bars!

The Mixology Wine Institute of Allentown-Bethlehem is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. We view bartending as a professional career and work hard to give our students the knowledge and experience required to be a professional mixologist at any of Allentown-Bethlehem's best bars.

Bartending Job Placement

Each of our graduates is also eligible to use our nationwide job placement assistance program. PBSA currently has 34 campuses of our own and have contracted with 56 additional campuses to mutually help each other's graduates.

We have signed, written contracts for placement services at these additional campuses and monitor them for their results. We feel we have the best schools for placement in the industry.

Any of our graduates may call the local bartending school that they graduated from and check to see if we have placement in the new city they are interested in. Once the student has relocated to the new city, our job placement director will call the new school for the student and set up their job placement appointment for them.
